An exhibition examining in detail all aspects of costume design and the workings of Cosprop, one of the world’s leading costume houses that specialise in the making of period costume for film and television from 1650 to the 1960’s.

The exhibition takes examples from some of the most popular costume dramas in recent years and shows the relevance the costumes have in telling the story of the film from the director’s vision to the period in which the film is set. The exhibition also looks at the various techniques used in creating authentic reproductions such as dyeing, tailoring, period pattern cutting, trimmings, the importance of accessories and the attention to detail for which Cosprop has gained it’s reputation.

This exhibition is being exhibited at Shambellie House, Dumfrieshire in August.
